This is the time, in which we have to give ourselves the priority over others. Taking care of ourselves, and eating healthy with social distancing, will not only do good to us but others also. During this period of quarantine one thing we all have realised is to build our immune system stronger. And this is only possible when we all eat healthily.
I know we are all locked at our homes and sometimes craves for junk but the same food could be made healthier by removing some ingredients and at the same time adding more nutritious ingredients. Sometimes this craving is so strong that we fail to control ourselves and dig in into the junk food, which is completely fine. But, one thing we need to keep in mind is that this craving should not overpower our mind.
It is said by everyone whether it be a yoga teacher, dietician or a nutritionist that we need to eat mindfully. This thing is said because we should always keep in mind that what we are eating and if it is going to harm us. Moreover, in this period it is more important to keep in mind what we are eating.
Sometimes I heard that healthy food couldn't be tasty but it is not the thing. It is, however, necessary that if we want to eat healthy and tasty at the same time we should know what ingredients can make our food tasty. Some ingredients which can make our food healthy and at the same time boost our immunity are herbs like mint, fenugreek, cilantro, thyme, basil, seeds like sesame, chia and flax. Hence, if we use these in our salads or bread it will make our food healthy yet tasty at the same time.
So, now we need to keep in mind what to eat in this quarantine. May God bless us all to fight this pandemic.
