Spices are seasonings that are obtained from the parts of a plant such as fruits and seed, bark, dried buds, stigma, roots and rhizomes and resin. They may be available in several forms: fresh, whole dried, or pre-ground dried. Spices which are used to flavor food includes coriander, fennel, mustard, cinnamon, mace, clove, saffron, ginger and asafoetida. They give aroma, color, flavor, and sometimes even texture to food. Most of the spices are grown in the tropical regions of the world.
Avoid the spices which has lost some of its original color.
