Description
Carrot powders are usually made by drying fresh carrots and then grinding them to a fine, powdery texture. Dried and powdered carrots are usually used to thicken soups and stews, combine it with flour in baking mixes or use as a natural food coloring. Making sundried powdered carrots is very easy to make and hardly requires much effort. All you need to do is, take a few carrots and wash them thoroughly. Then peel each of the carrots and chop it down to thin slices. Once sliced, place the carrot pieces on a tray covered with butter paper. Now cover the carrots with a food mesh or net and keep it under the sun for drying. Leave it under the sun for at least 24 hours. Once dried the carrots tend to shrink from their original size and darken in color. As this change is observed, take the carrots and put them into a grinder and grind until a fine powder is obtained. Your dehydrated carrot powder is ready which can be stored in airtight containers/packets and stored in the freezer for long term use.
