Ingredients For Dahi vada/ perugu garelu

Methods
  • 1. Soak black gram in water for 4 to 5 hours.
  • 2. Grind it into a smooth paste by adding required amount of water.
  • 3. Transfer it into a bowl, keep it in the fridge for 30minutes.
  • 4. After 30 minutes, beat the batter repeatedly for 2min.So that the batter becomes light in weight. This tip helps the vada to be smooth.
  • 5. Heat oil in a pan over a medium flame. Take small portion of the vada batter and shape into vada.
  • 6. Make a small hole at the centre, and carefully drop these vada into the hot oil. Repeat for the rest of the batter.
  • 7. Deep fry on both sides till it turns crisp outside and soft inside.
  • 8. Drain off the oil and transfer the vadas into plate.
  • 9. For the curd base - Take a mixing bowl. Add the whisked curd to it.
  • 10. Add salt , grated coconut to it. Mix well
  • 11. Carefully drop the vadas into the mixing bowl. Sprinkle red chilly powder over it.
  • 12. Serve the tasty and healthy dahi vada.
