We have heard a lot about "Vada", which is a crispy deep fried snack usually made of lentils, whole grains, millet or flour. But ever heard about "Chicken Vada"? Yes I have tried my hands on making chicken vadas.

Ingredients For Chicken Vada Recipe

Methods
  • 1. For Chicken Marination- Take chicken and make small pieces of chicken. Blitz the chicken pieces in a grinder or chopper to make it a paste.
  • 2. To the chicken add in lemon juice-chopped onions-chopped garlic-chopped coriander leaves- 1 tbsp crushed kasuri methi-2 tbsp chopped ginger-2 green chilies chopped-1/2 tsp coriander powder-1 tsp Kashmirilal Mirchi Powder-1/2 tsp Jeera powder-1/2 tsp Haldi powder and Salt as per taste.
  • 3. Mix all the ingredients well with the chicken paste and keep it aside for 7-10 minutes.
  • 4. For Making the vadas crunchy outside the chicken vadas will go through three coatings before it is deep fried.
  • 5. First Coating - Take 1 cup maida (refined flour) add in 1/2 tsp coriander powder-1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)-1tsp kashmirilal mirchi powder-1/4 tsp kasuri methi crushed and mix all of them with the maida.
  • 6. Second Coating- Take 1/2 cup milk and add 1 egg white. Mix them well.
  • 7. Third Coating- Bread Crumbs
  • 8. Process- Heat oil in a kadhai or wok. Take a handful of chicken and shape them like a vada.
  • 9. Coat the vada shaped chicken mixture in maida mixture i.e. first coating.
  • 10. Take maida coated vadas and coat it with the milk and egg mixture i.e. second coating.
  • 11. Finally, coat the chicken vada with bread crumbs.
  • 12. Deep fry the chicken vada in the hot oil until turned golden brown.
