Dudhi Halwa or Lauki Halwa is rich, creamy sweet Indian dessert made using Dudhi or Bottle Gourd.
Come winter and these goodies adorn the dining table! One of my all time favourites!
1.
Firstly peel off the skin of dudhi and grate it.
2.
Heat up the ghee in heavy bottom pan on low flame. Add grated dudhi and cook till it turns tender. Keep on stirring continuously so that it doesn't get burn.
3.
Lower the flame and add milk and sugar. Stir continuously and cook till milk evaporates completely.
4.
Add chopped nuts, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder. Mix well and further cook for a minute or 2. Switch off the flame.
5.
Garnish with some chopped nuts and serve hot or warm.
