Recipe Notes

The colour of barfi depends on the colour of chilies , so add food colour if required. Adjust sugar according to chili spiciness. Be generous in adding ghee, it gives amazing texture and flavour to barfi.

Ingredients For Green Chilli Barfi Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Slit green chillies and remove seeds. In a pan heat 1/4 cup water with 1 tsp sugar. Add the slit chilies and boil for 5 minutes. Boil chilies in sugar water till chilies turn to a pale colour.
  • 2. Drain water and let the chillies come down to room temperature. Now, grind chilies to little coarse paste. Take a bowl mix the cornflour to 1 cup of water without any lumps.
  • 3. Add the chili paste to this mixture. Heat ghee in a pan and add the flour mixture, heat in low flame till the mixture starts thickening. Add cardamom powder, chopped dry fruits and mix well.
  • 4. Keep stirring till the mixture leaves the sides and form a barfi consistency. Switch off the flame and transfer the prepared dough to a greased plate.
  • 5. Once it's cooled down to room temperature cut into pieces and enjoy!!
