Millet Idli Sandwich Recipe

Without bread I have made this sandwich.I used pearl millet (bajra) & urad dal paste for sandwich base & for filling chopped cucumber, onion, tomato.Any filling like potato or any shredded chicken preparation can ve used as stuffing.

Ingredients For Millet Idli Sandwich Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Mix bajra, urad dal, fenugreek seeds in a bowl with enough water for 2 to 3 hours.
  • 2. Then add green chilli & garlic cloves.Grind it & make a paste of it.
  • 3. Don't add water.If needed add only 2 to 3 tspn water.We have to make the batter consistency just like idli batter.
  • 4. Mix salt, cover it & keep aside for fermentation for 5 to 6 hours.Don't over ferment else it will become sour.
  • 5. Chop cucumber,onion, tomato.Add salt & chat masala.Salads are ready.
  • 6. Now take a small hand sandwich maker.Make it hot on gas & brush oil on both sides of it.
  • 7. Now spread some batter on one side of it, put some salads on it & again cover it with some batter.
  • 8. Make the flame low & cook both sides in low flame.It will take 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 9. Serve it with sauce or any homemade chutney.It's very healthy & tasty.
