Mini Tomato Uttapam Recipe

Uttapam is a traditional South Indian breakfast item. It is made from dosa batter but has been made slightly thicker to make it spongy and fluffy. Uttapam is also a common street food and also healthy because it is rich in carbohydrates, and does not contain any sugar or fats. - I gave a little twist, instead of onions I used tomatoes and prepared in small shapes by using snacks maker. - Use less oil while preparing it or if possible use desi ghee to make it more healthy and tasty. Try it for once I am sure you all will like it.

Tip - 1) If you do not have nonstick snack maker then you can also make it in dosa pan. 2) You can use ghee instead of oil.

Ingredients For Mini Tomato Uttapam Recipe

Methods
  • 1. First of all wash rice urad dal and fenugreek seeds with clean water and soak them for 4-5 hours.
  • 2. Now clean it once again with water. Remove excess water and make a paste with the help of a grinder.
  • 3. Mix it well by adding salt as per taste and water as required. Keep consistency like dosa batter.
  • 4. Rest it to ferment for 7-8 hours.
  • 5. Now heat a nonstick snack maker well and put dosa batter in it
  • 6. Now put chopped tomatoes, green chillies, green coriander over it.
  • 7. After 2 minutes add 1/2 tsp of oil to it. After 3-4 minutes flip it and cook it well for 2-3 minutes on the other side as well.
  • 8. Mini Tomato Uttapam is ready to serve. You can serve it with your favorite chutney or tomato sambar.
  • 9. I have served with peanut chutney and tomato sambar.
