Sweet corn, multi grain dosa/ Corn wheat rice dosa Recipe

Cooking with the available stuffs during lockdown is a much-needed skill for every homemaker. At the same time, feeding not only delicious & attractive but also healthy & nutritious food all the time to the whole family is also important. Breakfast has a greater role & if you make satisfying breakfast, then the rest of the day will be easy compared to unfilled breakfast. So here is an idea to serve your family the best. I used whole wheat, rice & fresh sweet corn as they were available at home. Adding vegetables such as cucumber, ash gourd, spinach, etc while grinding dosa batter not only makes attractive but also nutrients in a hidden way. Thus making it kids friendly!

Methods
  • 1. Wash and soak wheat & rice for 3-4 hours. Remove outer skin & fibre of corn, wash and separate the kernels.
  • 2. Take soaked rice, wheat & corn kernels in a mixer jar. Add salt and green chilli.
  • 3. Grind to smooth batter adding water as needed. The batter should not be runny.
  • 4. Keep it little thicker than regular dosa batter. Add water & adjust while making dosas if dosa turns harder.
  • 5. Prepare dosa with fresh batter, don’t ferment the batter.
  • 6. Heat iron tava/ griddle. Apply little oil/ ghee initially.
  • 7. Later you should not apply oil before making dosa, if applied dosa won’t come neatly.
  • 8. Take a ladle of batter, spread thin dosa like regular dosa.
  • 9. Cook covered until done.
  • 10. Apply ghee on top & flip the dosa to cook on medium flame until brown spots are found.
  • 11. Serve hot dosa with choice of chutney.
