Description

The antioxidant E304(i) is a fatty acid ester of ascorbic acid and it is produced by the esterification of the fatty acid palmitate and ascorbic acid. It is white or yellowish-white solid. E304(i) is used as a synthetic antioxidant in food and drink products. It may not be right for vegetarians because the palmitic acid used to produce it may be derived from animal fat.
