Usage Tips

  1. Baby Iceberg lettuce can be used for braising and stir-frying.
  2. Its leaves can also be used as taco cups, burger buns, or cups for chicken salad.
  3. It can also be lightly braised or chopped and sautéed into a stir-fry, used similarly to cabbage.
  4. It pairs well with rosemary, mint, parsley, poultry, beef, bacon, pork, shrimp, eggs, tofu, gorgonzola cheese, mozzarella cheese, goat cheese, avocado, carrots, beets, tomatoes, and vinaigrette.
  5. It will keep up to five days when stored in a plastic bag in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator. When sliced or torn, it will keep up to one week when stored in a sealed container in the crisper drawer of the refrigerator.

Description

Baby Iceberg lettuce is round in shape, and small in size, about the size of a softball. Its leaves are tightly bound, broadly shaped, thick-walled, and crisp with high water content. Its outer leaves are typically light green in color, and the inner leaves range from pale yellow to a translucent white. It is crunchy, tender, and juicy. It is available throughout the year. Today it is widely available and can be found in North America, Central America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
