Description

Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) is a tree native to southern Asia. It is named Haritaki after ‘harita’, which means green, and because it is sacred to Lord Shiva, known as ‘Hara,’ and grows in the Himalayas where Lord Shiva was thought to reside. It is rich in vitamin C and substances found to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition to its natural state, haritaki is also available in powder or dietary supplement form.
