Description

Dextrin is white or yellow powder which is produced by the hydrolysis of starch sources such as corn, wheat or potatoes. It is obtained by heating starch in the presence of moisture and acid. There are three types of dextrins- white, yellow and brown dextrin.

Note

Those who have celiac disease and are gluten-intolerant must avoid dextrin as it contains gluten. It may also cause bloating, gas and diarrhea.(2)
