Description

Food color (E124) is a water-soluble synthetic coal tar and azo dye that gives a bright red color to food and drink products. It is denoted with E number, E124.

Selection Guide

Look for the "use-by" date on the label of the packaging.

Note

Food color(E124) may cause allergic reactions in people who are already allergic to aspirin. It may also cause hyperactivity in young children. It may worsen an already existing asthma condition.(1)
