Description

Glycerol 422 is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid. For human consumption, it is classified as a sugar alcohol. It has three hydrophilic hydroxyl groups that are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature. Due to its hygroscopic properties, it helps to keep food moist and even extends shelf life of a product. It is also found in many lipids. It serves as a humectant, solvent and sweetener, and it may also help to preserve foods.
