Description

Iron (Ferrous Sulfate) is a mineral and its purpose is to carry oxygen in the hemoglobin of red blood cells throughout the body, so cells can produce energy. Dietary iron exists as two types such as heme and non-heme. Heme iron is found in animal foods such as meat, poultry and seafood. Non-heme iron is found in plant foods such as spinach, beans, kale and broccoli.
