Description

Kulche is a mildly leavened flatbread made from maida flour, water, a pinch of salt and a leavening agent (yeast or old kulcha dough. It is widely eaten with a spicy chickpea curry known as chole is the dish of choice for being eaten with kulcha. It is believed that the Nizam rulers invented the 'kulcha' and made it famous in India. They can be made in the tandoor as well as on a tava or griddle. It often uses yeast as a leavening agent. This yeast also lends a mild and delectable sour taste to the kulcha.

Selection Guide

While buying a readymade kulcha make sure to check the freshness of the bread. Avoid buying the breads that have black spots on it.
