Usage Tips

  1. Monoglycerides are used in many food products in small quantities.
  2. They are also used to improve the texture and consistency of some food products.
  3. They are used in bakery products, beverages, ice creams and margarine.
  4. They are used as a flavour enhancer as well.


It is a type of glyceride that is made up of glycerol and one fatty acid chain. They can be saturated fat or unsaturated fat. Some monoglycerides are also extracted from plant or animal fats.


People who have heart diseases should limit their intake of food containing monoglycerides.(1)
