  1. Natural Colour (INS 150d) is used in carbonated beverages, sauces, confectionery, breads, alcoholic drinks, preserved vegetables, jams, jellies, marmalades, processed meats, balsamic vinegar, coffee, chocolate syrups, baked goods, soups, meat rubs, seasoning blends.
  2. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight. It is best stored in a cool, dry environment.

Description

Natural Colour (INS 150d) is a variety of caramel colour most widely used as a food colourant. It is obtained by controlled heating of carbohydrates with ammonium and sulfite compounds which results in a colour ranging from a light brown to a deep black-brown. The carbohydrates commonly used are high dextrose corn syrup (HDCS), invert sugar and cane sugar. High dextrose corn syrup is usually preferred since the resulting Caramel Color is more stable over time and is less viscous. It is used to impart caramel color in numerous foods and beverages like colas, soy sauce, seasonings, breads, cereals, etc.
