Noodles are thin long strips of pasta or a similar flour paste made usually from wheat flour or rice flour. Noodles are eaten in various forms like Mafalda, Lasagna, Egg noodles, Japanese buckwheat noodles, Ramen, Rice noodles, Chinese wheat and bean thread.
Choose long noodles and avoid if they are broken. Make sure to see the “best before” date on the package of noodles.
Excessive consumption of noodles might cause weight gain as it contains a lot of carbohydrates. It may contain MSG (monosodium glutamate) which increases blood pressure. It may also cause metabolic syndrome in women.(1)
