Description
Organic cocoa shells are the outer shells or portions of cocoa beans encasing cocoa nibs. They are removed from the cocoa bean before or after the seeds are roasted. They are high in heavy metals and mycotoxins which makes them inedible. They are usually underutilized or considered waste but known to have high nutritional value owing to the presence of a variety of bio compounds like phenolic compounds, dietary fibers and theobromine.
