Partially Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil

Vegetarian

Usage Tips

  1. Partially Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil can be used in baked goods, cookies, baby formulas and crackers.

Description

Palm kernel oil is oil derived from the kernel of the oil palm Elaeis guineensis. Partially Hydrogenated Palm Kernel Oil has undergone a chemical process in which hydrogen is added to liquid oils to turn them into a solid form(containing trans fats), to increase its shelf life. Palm kernel oil is already high in saturated fats and partial hydrogenation creates more trans fats in the oil, making it unhealthy, leaving negative effects on cholesterol levels.
