Description

Permitted Synthetic Food Colours are the artificial food colors, manufactured by chemical reaction that are permitted by FSSAI(under Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011) to be used as food additives. They are used in food and beverages to create an attractive appearance. Some of the permitted synthetic food colors include: Red color (Ponceau 4R, Carmoisine, and Erythrosine) , Yellow color (Tartrazine and Sunset Yellow FCF), blue color (Indigo Carmine and Brilliant Blue FCF) and green color(Fast Green FCF).
