Description

Pickle has been an Indian tradition and most households have a family recipe for different varieties of pickles. Pickle powder is a mix of various spices used to make pickles. It can be used for making any kind of pickle. It gives good colour and taste to the pickle and it also balances all ingredients with the correct preposition. Not just pickles, many people use this masala to flavor various curries and starters also. Though traditional pickle powder is different for different regions, the basic powder recipe remains the same. To make a homemade pickle powder, dry roast dry red chilies, coriander seeds, onion seeds, fennel seeds, mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, and cumin on medium heat till slightly browned and fragrant. Once done, let it cool down for some time. Blend the ingredients in a blender to make a coarse powder. Store the powder in an airtight container for up to a month in a cool and dry place and use it when required.
