Description

Piri piri chilli is a cultivar of Capsicum frutescens, originally produced in Mozambique by Portuguese explorers in 1487. The chillies are small in size, green in color when unripe and turn to red as they ripe. They are tapered to a blunt point and are 2–3 cm long. It is descended from plants from the Americas, like all other chilli peppers. Now it is cultivated commercially in places like Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Rwanda.
