Description

Red 40 Lake is a water-soluble artificial red food color that comes from organic petroleum. It is obtained by precipitation of metal salts.

Check for the "Use-by" date on the packaging.

Consumption of Red 40 lake may lead to hypersensitivity that may cause swelling in the mouth. It may cause cause hives and cancer.(1)
