Description

Red sorghum is regarded as one of the of the fore most important cereal grains for the human consumption. Red sorghum is brought into use for human consumption because it contains ample nutritional additives such as protein, iron, calcium, and so on. It is mainly used in the form of porridge, flour, malted and distilled beverages, etc. Likewise, it is also used to feed the animals, as it contains almost the samw nutritional contents as that of maze, hence is considered as an ideal source of food for the animals. Moreover, it also serves the commercial purposes, like the stem of red sorghum is used in making wall boards, solvents, bio-degredable packaging materials,etc. There also different varieties of red sorghum like the sweet red sorghum, commonly known as sorgos and has sweet, juicy stems and that might grow 6 to 14 feet tall. The seeds of sorgos happens to be small and bitter. Another happens to be the grain red sorghum, which includes what are commonly known as as kafir, corn, milo, durra, maize, Egyptian corn, African millets, Black Indian millets and pearl millets.

Selection Guide

Avoid buying red sorghum that have tiny turned brittle or have small worms in them. Also there should not be any moisture in them.
