Description

Sattu is a type of flour made up of a mixture of ground pulses and cereals. This dry powder is mainly used in India and especially the North Indian state of Bihar. It is prepared in various ways as a principal or secondary ingredient of dishes. It is one of the most important sources of protein for vegetarians. It is basically a flour-like ingredient that is high in nutrients and is often called the powerhouse of energy. Apart from providing the body with energy, what makes sattu quite a unique ingredient is that its prepping process (dry roasting) keeps the nutritional values in place. Though it is readily available in the market, but it can also be prepared at home. All you need to do is just roast the gram (chana) in a wok. Allow it to cool. Once cooled, just finely grind the roasted chana with the help of a grinder.
