Usage Tips

  1. Sun dry tamarind can be stored in a cool, dark place.
  2. It can be used as a souring agent in curries, salads, sauces, marinades, candies, stir-fries, fish, chicken and sorbets.

Description

Sun dry tamarind is dehydrated whole tamarind pods with their hard, brown skin, under the sun. The pods can be removed later, once completely dried. Dried tamarind fruit can be reconstituted in hot water, soaking for about 15 minutes. It can be sieved to remove stringy bits and seeds, and the remaining pulp can be used in recipes.

Selection Guide

Whole dried pods are available packaged in cellophane bags. Check for its expiry date before purchasing.
