Usage Tips

  1. Tatri can be used as a flavour enhancer in foods like chat masala, lemonades, sherbet, sugar syrups, dhokla and namkeens.
  2. It can be used as a preservative in foods like candies, jams and jellies. It can also be used in soft drinks.
  3. It can be used as a substitute for lemon juice in pani puri water.

Description

Tatri is a naturally occuring tart compound made from citric fruits like lime, lemon and oranges. It is colorless, odorless and crystalline in its natural form. It is converted into crystal and powder form through a technical process. It is used to flavour a variety of foods and drinks.

Selection Guide

Look for tatri in powdered form for instant use. Make sure it is a clean, white, crystalline powder. Also check for the expiration date on the packaging of tatri.

Consumption of tarti may cause allergic reactions like muscular and stomach pain, joint pain with swelling and stiffness, and shortness of breath.(1)
