Description
Yogurt is a food produced by bacterial fermentation of milk. The best way to flavor a yogurt is to do it naturally using fresh fruit, vanilla extract and/or cinnamon. Vanilla yogurt is the yogurt that has enriched vanilla flavor. Though it is commercially available under various brand names, vanilla yogurt can also be made at home. Start by slowly heating the milk to 180 degrees, stirring often to prevent heating. Once done, let the milk cool down. Add yogurt culture package and stir well. Add scraped beans from vanilla beans, vanilla extract, sweetener of choice, and dry milk and mix well. Pour milk into Yogourmet container, cover, and let sit for 12 hours. After at least 12 hours, transfer yogurt from yogourmet container to a storage container and refrigerate for a couple of hours before serving.
