Sesame Jaggery Chikki Recipe

Ingredients For Sesame Jaggery Chikki Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Apply ghee to surface area
  • 2. Where will you roll out chikki and the rolling

  • 6. consistency of the jaggery once you get going.
  • 7. Toast sesame seeds on medium heat.
  • 8. Takes about 5-6 minutes.
  • 9. Keep stirring intermittently so they don't burn
  • 10. Once toasted move sesame seeds to a bowl
  • 11. Return pan to medium heat burner
  • 12. Add jaggery and lightly crush the broken pieces
  • 13. to help it melt quicker.
  • 14. Once jaggery pieces have melted, turn gas to low-
  • 15. Medium Continue stirring. Mixture becomes frothy
  • 16. and bubbly in about 2 minutes.
  • 17. little bit of of the mixture and drop it a small bowl
  • 18. with water as a test.
  • 19. If the piece is like caramel and stringy
  • 20. it is not ready. Continue stirring for about another
  • 21. 2-3 Minutes and try the water test again.
  • 22. This time it will likely harden quickly when dropped
  • 23. into the water (if you take a bite it will have a
  • 24. Slightly crunchy). That is when it is ready.
  • 25. Add sesame seeds to melted jaggery and mix.
  • 26. Turn off gas and remove from heat.
  • 27. Put sesame jaggery mixture onto lighlty greased
  • 28. Plate or surface Roll out
  • 29. chikki with more pressure if you like it thin. Use a
  • 30. knife to make cut marks. once cooled and enjoy.
