LEMON FLAVOURED PANACOTTA WITH GINGER CRUMBS RECIPE

Now there's a happy panacotta wishing you a happy day every day! Pana cotta is Italian for cooked cream. It is a molded chill dessert popular not just in Italy but all over the world for it's not just delicious but an easy preparation that can be done way before the occasion! This recipe has ginger crumbs to add to the texture and enhance the flavour! But that is optional you can omit it and completely indulge in the flavour of the panacotta! So get ready and pick a pot and the rest of the magic will happen on its own!!

Recipe Notes

Bloom gelatin completely with no lumps. Do not over cook the cream. Do not stir in lemon juice while it's very hot.

Ingredients For LEMON FLAVOURED PANACOTTA WITH GINGER CRUMBS RECIPE

Methods
  • 1. Add gelatin to 3 tbsp water and soak.
  • 2. Once soaked melt gelatin in microwave for 20~30 seconds or in a double boiler for a minute or two. This is called blooming of gelatin.
  • 3. Add milk to a pot and heat when it's a little warm add the cream and stir in the sugar as well.
  • 4. Cook cream and milk well for 2~3 on low to medium flame.
  • 5. Remove from heat and add the bloomed gelatin and stir well.
  • 6. After 2 minutes while it's still warm but not hot add your lemon juice while continously whisking.
  • 7. Pour into moulds of desire and set in fridge for 4 hours or overnight.
  • 8. For the crumble add all ingredients in one bowl. Make sure to use chill butter. Cut butter in small pieces before adding.
  • 9. Rub ingredients between fingers until it reaches sand texture.
  • 10. Spread over a baking tray and bake at 180° for 4~6 minutes. Make sure to continously check in between to prevent over colouring or burning.
  • 11. Unmold your panacotta or have it directly from the utensil used with some ginger crumbs on top.
