These lentil kebabs are very healthy and rich in protein and can be served with coriander and mint (pudina) chutney. It makes for a perfect vegetarian snack idea for parties.
1.
Soak dal for 5-6 hours.Now cook soaked masoor dal with 2 cups of water, salt to taste for at least 6-8 whistle, once done allow the pressure to release naturally, drain out the excess water.

Mash the masoor dal coarsely and mix them along with the potatoes.

Heat a sauce pan with oil, add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle for few seconds.
4.
Add chopped garlic, ginger and saute for few seconds. Add onions and saute until the onions turn translucent.
5.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and mix it well.
6.
Add mashed potato and masoor dal mixture and slowly mix well until all the masala is evenly coated.
7.
Keep mixing until the kebab mixture combines together.
8.
Once the mixture is cooled down,divide the mixture into equal portions.
9.
Using a thick wooden skewer, press each portion of the dal mixture on it using your fingers to make kebab.
10.
Heat a grill pan with oil,add the kebabs slowly and keep turning it over until it crisps up evenly on all the side.
I am a lover of chicken seekh kebab and so I never quite like veg seekh kebab but this I really must try it because it’s such a healthy snack. I was looking for something healthy anyway, so thanks for this wonderful recipe.
