Urad Daal Maalpua Innovative Version Rajasthani Malpua are a type of pancakes dipped in sugar syrup are very delicious treat for one and all. Here I have innovated this traditional dessert into a healthy version of it. I have made theses Malpuas with Urad daal batter instead of refined flour. Do try and enjoy with your family.

Batter should not be too runny so add little milk at a time.

Methods
  • 1. Wash and soak the Urad daal for 4 hrs.Then blend it with fennel seeds and milk.
  • 2. And add the milk for pouring consistency batter. Batter shouldn’t be too runny.
  • 3. Rest the batter for two hours time. Take a shallow pan, add Desi ghee for shallow frying.
  • 4. Once it’s hot add spoonful batter in center of the pan and turn the flame low. Flip and Fry until golden brown from both sides.
  • 5. Make all Malpua in the same way. Let them cool for few mins.
  • 6. Sugar syrup : add water and sugar in a pan. Let it boil for three mins. Add cardamom powder and saffron strands.
  • 7. Dip and soak all Malpuas in sugar syrup for few mins.
  • 8. Take them out and Garnish with dry fruits of your choice and serve hot or cold as per choice.
