Ingredients For Moong Dal Halwa Recipe

Methods
  • 1. For the moong dal paste: Soak the moong dal overnight.
  • 2. Drain and grind the moong dal with 1/4 cup water into a paste.
  • 3. Melt ghee in a pan and add in the moong paste. Cook until the raw aroma of the moong dal paste goes away.
  • 4. Keep stirring the moong dal paste on a low flame until it starts to release oil from the sides.
  • 5. Simultaneously on another stove pour in the milk, water and sugar in a heavy bottom pan and let the sugar dissolve. Bring it to a boil.
  • 6. Now once the moong paste reaches the granulated stage and starts to release a fried aroma pour in the milk mixture.
  • 7. Mix well simmer and cook. Keep stirring so that it does not stick or burn.
  • 8. Finally add in the cardamom powder and the dried fruits.
  • 9. Your moong dal halwa is ready for a serve.
