Fish is an excellent source of protein. Pabda- a variety of catfish is an excellent source of daily protein intake. Prepared with sesame seeds gravy, this dish tastes exceptionally good.

Firstly, wash and clean the fish properly and marinate with salt and turmeric powder. Deep fry them in mustard oil till golden brown in colour.

Now in a mixing bowl, mix together sesame paste, mustard paste, green chilies paste, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and make a masala paste using little water.

Add little more mustard oil if required in the same pan where we fried the fish. Add the slit green chillies . As it begins to splutter, add the masala paste. Add salt and cook till the oil starts separating from the pan.

Next, add 1/2 cup water and bring to a boil. Cover and cook until the gravy thickens. Add the fried fish. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and switch off the heat. Drizzle mustard oil and add some slit green chilies. Serve hot with steamed rice.
