Tofu Katsu Recipe

This is a Japanese dish. I have used tofu instead of meat to create vegetarian/vegan version. It is delicious and cab be served as lunch or dinner. There are many versions of katsu available in Japan.

Ingredients For Tofu Katsu Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Drain all the water from tofu. Cut the tofu slab into half horizontally.
  • 2. In a bowl, mix all purpose flour and corn flour. Add salt and pepper powder and adding little water prepare slurry.
  • 3. Coat the tofu in slurry. Now spread the panko bread crumbs into plate.
  • 4. Coat the tofu well with breadcrumbs now.
  • 5. Deep fry it onto hot oil until crisp. Now cut it into strips.
  • 6. Now to prepare a sauce, mix tomato ketchup, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Combine well.
  • 7. Serve the katsu over shredded cabbage and plain rice. Drizzle some sauce over it
  • 8. Also sprinkle white sesame seeds and serve.
