Chicken Ghee roast Recipe

Mangalorean Ghee roast. This authentic coastal cuisine from Mangalore is a breeze to cook, thanks to Tasty Tales ready to use paste. I have made chicken Ghee roast and Paneer Ghee roast using a pack of the ghee roast curry paste each. This goes well with hot steamed rice or soft Pulkas.

Ingredients For Chicken Ghee roast Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Marinate the chicken with Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon, Curd 3 tablespoon, Ginger garlic paste 2 teaspoon, Lemon juice of 1 lemon, Salt to taste and rest it for an hour in the refrigerator. Take a frying pan and heat 2 tablespoon ghee, add curry leaves. Fry for 20 seconds and add the Marinated chicken and fry well in medium flame for 10 minutes stirring it occasionally. Keep it aside.
  • 2. In a kadai add 1 tablespoon ghee and fry the Tasty Tales Mangalorean Ghee roast paste on a low flame, till the ghee separates (15 to 20 minutes). Add the chicken pieces, tamarind pulp, jaggery and adjust the salt as per taste, mix well and cook on a low flame with closed lid for 10 minutes or till the chicken is cooked.
  • 3. Chicken Ghee roast is ready, now add the remaining tablespoon ghee and serve hot with steamed rice or soft Pulkas. For Paneer Ghee roast replace the chicken with 500 gms Paneer and cook the Paneer for 5 minutes with closed lid or till paneer is golden brown.
