Firstly, peel the oranges and separate the rinds. Deseed them and blend well in a blender.

In a mixing bowl, mix together all purpose flour,suji, 4 tablespoons sugar, cardamom powder, blended orange. Mix well . Now make batter of medium consistency using water. The batter should be neither too thick nor runny. Rest the batter for 15 minutes .

Next, to prepare the sugar syrup, boil together 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water. Make syrup of one string consistency. Add the orange zest and shut the flame.

Now heat up oil in a pan and drop a ladle full of batter. Fry the malpua till golden brown on both sides. Dip in sugar syrup for at least one hour. Now they are ready to serve.
