Keep stirring on regular intervals otherwise it will burn at bottom. Use earthenware to serve. Tastes best when served chilled.

Ingredients For Phirni /Firni Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Rinse rice couple of times and soak for 15-20 minutes. Then drain water and grind rice into coarse texture. Keep it a side.
  • 2. In hot water add almonds and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then peel of the skin and chop almonds.
  • 3. In 2 tbsp of milk add saffron and keep aside.
  • 4. Heat milk in thick kadai. When milk starts boiling add ground rice and sugar.
  • 5. While rice is cooking add chopped almonds and saffron milk.
  • 6. Cook in low to medium flame for 15 minutes. Make sure to stir in intervals to avoid lumps.
  • 7. When it thickens turn off heat.
  • 8. Pour Phirni into serving bowls, garnish with chopped almonds, saffron strands. You also use dried rose petals.
  • 9. Keep bowls in refrigerator and serve when it’s cooled.
