Rajasthani Bajra Khichda Recipe

In Rajasthan we use more of millets like bajra than rice, and therefore recipes like Khichdi/khichda that are typically made with rice in other parts of the country are made differently in Rajasthan. In winters, Rajasthani bajra khichdi is ideal to combat the cold weather. healthy pearl millet Indian Khichda is good for you as bajra is high in protein and is a complete protein for vegetarians when combined with dal. So as a Vegetarian, include bajra in your diet. Bajra is a great option for those on a gluten-free diet.

Ingredients For Rajasthani Bajra Khichda Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Take the bajra in bowl and sprinkle 2-3 tbsp water to get it moist. Cover and keep it for 20 mins.
  • 2. Now take mixer grinder and crush the pearl millet well using pulse function. Remove the skin with help if a strainer from the crushed bajra.
  • 3. Now take a pressure cooker, add two cups of water and mix crushed bajra and washed split lobia lentils. Mix well and Make a lump free mixture. Add salt and close the lid. Cook for three whistles.
  • 4. Open the lid and serve hot with ghee. Very healthy and tasty treat with Pearl Millet is ready to go.
