Ingredients For Vegetarian Banh Mi Recipe

  • 1. Combine all the ingredients for the paneer marinade except the vegetable oil in a large shallow bowl.
  • 2. Place paneer in marinade and keep for at least 1 hour.
  • 3. Combine the ingredients for the pickled vegetables in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • 4. In a small bowl, whisk together the ingredients for the creamy banh mi Sauce. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • 5. Once paneer is marinated, heat oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • 6. Once oil is hot, add the paneer. Cook for about 5 minutes per side, until the paneer is dark and crispy.
  • 7. Cut the baguette in half and then slice each baguette lengthwise to open.
  • 8. Generously spread the creamy banh mi sauce over both sides of each baguette.
  • 9. Add cooked paneer and a small handful of pickled carrots and radish.
  • 10. Top with fresh cilantro and jalapeno and serve immediately.
