Ingredients For Brown Rice Rasam Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Soak washed brown rice overnight.
  • 2. The next day transfer it to a cooker. Add washed bengal gram to it.
  • 3. To this add sliced coconut, 1 tbsp coriander fruits, and pressure cook it for 5 whistles.
  • 4. Make a smooth paste of it and add sufficient water, tamarind juice to it.
  • 5. Turn on the flame. Add turmeric powder, salt and curry leaves to it.
  • 6. Boil for 10 mins or until the raw smell goes off over medium flame.
  • 7. Then add homemade rasam powder to it. Boil for 2 minutes.
  • 8. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan for seasoning. To this add mustard, fenugreek seeds, coriander seeds, curry leaves one after the other.
  • 9. After it splutters add asafoetida , red chilly (cut) to it.
  • 10. Turn off flame. serve with hot steamed rice.
