Christmas special fusion tart

This tart I made specially for Christmas! It's a fusion dish in which I have set moong dal halwa in a tart mould. Then filled it with chocolate ganache. Topped it with fruits to make Santa faces and decorated the tart with coloured sugar Christmas toppings.

Methods
  • 1. For moong dal halwa: Grind the moong dal in mixie.
  • 2. Let few dal grains remain whole.
  • 3. Take ghee in a nonstick pan. Heat the ghee and melt it.
  • 4. Now add the crushed moong dal to the pan.
  • 5. Mix it properly and cook on low to medium flame.
  • 6. Stir continuously till the mixture releases aroma and bubbles are formed.
  • 7. This will take around 8-10 minutes.
  • 8. Now add sugar to it and mix it properly. Mix well and add the warm milk+water mixture.
  • 9. Mix everything properly. Cook till the halwa leaves the sides of the pan.
  • 10. Cool the halwa at room temperature and then set it in a tart mould.
  • 11. Keep the tart to set in fridge for half an hour.
  • 12. For chocolate ganache: heat the fresh cream till some bubbles are formed.
  • 13. Add this cream over chopped milk chocolate compound. Cover it for 10 minutes.
  • 14. After 10 minutes mix everything properly and let it get thick in fridge for about 25-30 minutes.
  • 15. When the halwa and ganache are in the fridge cut the fruits and keep all the decorating ingredients ready.
  • 16. Assembling: Demould the set moong dal halwa from the tart mould.
  • 17. Fill up the tart with chocolate ganache.
  • 18. Now place pieces of banana near the edges of the tart. (For making Santa's face)
  • 19. Over those pieces keep triangular pieces of strawberries. Below the banana pieces place semi circular pieces of strawberries.
  • 20. Now make eyes of Santa using brown chocolate chips and lips with red coloured sugar decorations.
  • 21. Using Christmas special sugar decorations garnish the tart. Yummy fusion tart is ready for Christmas.
