Ingredients For Gujrat special snack Fafda with flavourfull Raw Papaya chutney Recipe

Methods
  • 1. For Fafda:Take a large mixing bowl add besan,turmeric,chilli powder,ajwain,papad khar and salt to taste.
  • 2. Also add 2 tbsp oil for moyan and mix well.Add warm water as required and knead it well for 5 minute till the dough turn soft.
  • 3. Add oil and coat the dough well. Cover with moist cloth and rest for 30 minutes.
  • 4. Knead again for a minute making sure the dough is soft.
  • 5. Make a ball sized dough and make a cylindrical shape.
  • 6. On a wooden board place the dough and stick one side.
  • 7. Press and stretch it thin with the help of palms in forward direction.
  • 8. Scrape off with the help of knife without damaging the fafda. Now deep fry in hot oil.
  • 9. Fry fafdas for a minute or two, till they turn golden and crispy.
  • 10. Finally, serve Gujarati Fafda with Raw Papaya Chutney.
  • 11. For chutney : Heat oil in a non-stick pan or heavy based pan over medium flame. Add mustard seeds; when seeds begin to crackle, add a pinch of asafoetida.
  • 12. Add green chillies and sauté for 1/2 minute. Add grated papaya and salt. Mix well and cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
  • 13. Add 2 tablespoons water, mix well. Cook covered on low flame until papaya is tender or for approx. 4-5 minutes. Stir in between occasionally to prevent sticking.
  • 14. Add turmeric powder and mix well. Turn off flame and transfer prepared chutney to serving bowl.
  • 15. Serve with Raw Papaya chutney
