Healthy baati Recipe

Rajasthani baati is made with whole wheat flour. But this time I did some experiment with the flour and added jowar flour to give it a twist. Believe me it turned out great.

Methods
  • 1. In a mixing bowl, add both flours. Add salt, baking soda, ghee, carom seeds.
  • 2. Mix everything with fingers. Using water make a tight dough.
  • 3. Rest the dough for 30 minutes .
  • 4. Now take medium size portion of the dough and make rounnd balls. Press each ball a little on the top.
  • 5. Heat pressure cooker. Spread a little amount of ghee at the base.
  • 6. Now place only 4-5 dough balls at the bottom of the cooker. Keep the flame low.
  • 7. Close the lid of the cooker. Remove the whistle.
  • 8. After 7-8 minutes , open the lid and turn the baatis.
  • 9. Keep turning after every 10 minutes. After 35 to 40 minutes baatis will ne brown in colour.
  • 10. Soak in ghee or drizzle ghee over it and enjoy with panchmel daal and choorma.
