Mango Kunafa Mousse Recipe

Kunafa is Middle eastern dessert made with sewai soaked with sugar syrup. Here I tried mousse version of kunafa with mango. Why to stuck with mango as a fruit, here is something awesome with mango and cheese.

Recipe Notes

Heavy cream can be substituted with fresh cream if you don't have. Can add nuts and cardamom powder.

Ingredients For Mango Kunafa Mousse Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Heat butter in a pan and add sewai. Roast until golden brown, and keep it aside in a bowl.
  • 2. In the same pan add 20 gm of mango puree and sugar, cook for 2 minutes. Add lemon juice and chopped mangoes and mix well on medium flame for 1 minute. Keep it aside in a bowl.
  • 3. Whisk heavy cream to soft peaks, then add cream cheese, white chocolate and mango puree. Again whisk until for 1 minute. Add lemon juice and vanilla essence and give it a nice mix.
  • 4. Make sugar syrup with 100 gm of sugar and 50 gm of water. Boil it for 5-7 minutes and let it cool down.
  • 5. Take a martini glass/ bowl/ appealing glass. Put some sewai and drizzle sugar syrup on it. Then in second layer spread cream cheese and mango mixture with the help of piping bag or spoon. In 3rd layer add chopped mango mixture nicely. Then repeat with sewai and sugar syrup then cream cheese filling and then mango mixture.
  • 6. Put some puree of mango mixture on top and garnish with sliced mango and mint leaves.
  • 7. Keep it in fridge for half an hour and serve chilled.
