Masala Idli Fry Recipe

Masala Idli Fry is a mildly spiced sautéed dish made from idlis. This dish can be made either from fresh idlis or leftover idlis. Normally a day old refrigerated idlis are more suited as they have less tendency to break when frying or sauteeing.

Ingredients For Masala Idli Fry Recipe

Methods
  • 1. Heat oil and butter in a wok.
  • 2. Add cumin mustard seeds and wait till they crackle.
  • 3. Add chana daal and urad saute till they become golden brown.
  • 4. Add onion ,tomato ,curry leaves ,slit chillies and capsicum and saute for few minutes ..
  • 5. Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,sambhar masala, red chilli sauce and mix well. Finely add 1 cup water and give a boil.
  • 6. Add left over idlis and saute for 5 min. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot masala idli fry.
